Great Rivers, Great Challenges Spring/Summer 2009

[Editors note: why is a poem in this section? Because we are in the season where the watchmen have been fighting on the walls of the church.]

Watchers Of
The Night by Therese Holloway

Watchman, Oh Watchman, where will you be;
When God's Glorious Light becomes ALL you can see?
For you are a warrior, who watches the night;
Your sword's been effective and you're WINNING the fight!
This is YOUR hour ~ YOUR victory IS here;
So, position yourself, to stand TALL, without fear!
Arise and receive, the spoils of reward;
For the battle you've fought, NOW, belongs to the Lord!
Declare what you SEE, in the heavenly realm;
Be NOT deceived, and do NOT turn around.
Rise up and believe, for the anointing's sweet dew;
Stand firm on the wall, until daylight breaks through!
For, this is YOUR hour ~ YOUR victory is here;
Morning HAS come, and dawn HAS appeared!
So, stretch forth your hands and give Glory to God;
Lift up your voice ~ do NOT move from this wall!
Victory HAS come, through God's Glorious Light;
And those who've been faithful, to Watch Through The Night!
