Perspectives Fall 2008
Ironlight
by Doug Foust
Its sharpness everywhere to blend.
That even stars are laid within.
The lovework that has caused to shine.
My brothers eyes, and sharpen mine.
Peaceful handwork, all can see.
So none can say it cannot be.
For rust can never fade its place.
Nor dull the beauty or the Grace.
Behold the work beyond the mind.
And that which most may never find.
For in its place can never be.
A brothers eyes that truly see.
To cause to place within the grasp.
An everlight, that everlasts.
And there I know no lamppost sees.
The loving eyes that care for me.
To see that which can truly be.
And shine for all the world to see.
