Eyeheart by Doug Foust
As lives the heart of eyes that could.
And trust the answer in its own.
While all the others never stood.
To see the peace within its home.
The life of vision it has born.
To give when all of many weep.
And rest where that cannot be torn.
From all the love it always keeps.
And while its makings washed the face.
Of those who looked and saw it stand.
It seemed to be the only place.
Where real and true could both shake hands.
And far beyond all memory.
Lives that where nothing can compare.
To be the friend where someone needs.
A one to cause what could be shared.
For when its life has come in rest.
That teardrops brought it forth to cry.
It understands the way that says.
There's more than meets the eye.
