Childlike Faith- huh. We've heard it over and over again, but what does it mean?  I'll use our Grand Daughter Madeline as an example. She just turned 6 years old. If you are trying to get her out of your hair and say something like "we'll get an ice cream later", you'd better mean it. She will drive you nuts and she will never forget what you said. Because it's exciting! When she visits our dogs in the back yard, she wants the visit on camera for posterity, and she wants to take pictures too because she is excited about doing it! She's excited about running through the grass. She's excited about making pictures together. She's excited about cartoons, singing, cooking, walking, running, giggling, chasing Grandpa, playing hide and seek... she loves it all. Rain? No problem. Cold? No problem. Too hot? No problem. Is she going to hurt herself? Probably, but she doesn't care. Do you see it yet?

The older I get, the more whiney I get. I whine when I'm cold or wet or too hot. I whine when things cause me severe problems...because dealing with it wears me out. But I don't have to handle it alone. Jesus said He would come and live with us...and the Father and Holy Spirit too! And I'm worried about some ache and pain or person or whatever is getting my goat at the moment? Shame on me.

When we receive a personal relationship to Jesus, we should be excited about everything. Excited to get to know Him. Excited to do whatever He wants. Excited for the adventure or the quiet. Just excited. Here the King of the Universe gave up everything for us to be close to Him and we can't figure out how to be excited! And the REALLY fun thing is--You can remind the Lord of His Word and He will perform it. And He loves me. He loves you. Wow...now THAT's exciting!   dfh
