This summer has been one of the hottest on record, but in many more ways than just atmospheric temperature. Like the clouds of a killer storm in the distance, the current events have broken upon the earth with a vengeance. Anger, hatred, power struggles, revenge, all have literally taken over the earth in every corner. And one of the most volatile has been the areas of Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon.
Israel is still God's Beloved, though for a time they were separated from Him by their unbelief. (Romans 11). Please understand that no doctrine of hatred towards them will stand against the love that our God holds for His people, of ANY ethnic or racial background. There will come a time of restoration of the Jews, and those who hold hatred in their hearts, or hidden plans to destroy them will themselves be destroyed.
Over the centuries, many people have been murdered in the name of "God" because of selfish, wrong interpretations of Scripture. But hear this: God is no fool. And if we truly are who we say we are, then it is our choice to keep the issues of our hearts clean and filled with His mind and His love. As we enter this terrible time of wars and rumors of wars, we must seek Him to renew our minds daily. It is time to pray, it is time to be available to God in prayer and worship. In His Presence there is peace, faith, hope, joy, and assignments of love to be given to the earth.
Jesus said that He came not to condemn the people of the world, but to save them. (John 3:17). So let us operate in His life, love, and power to be redeemers of mankind. The power of God is not weak, nor is it timid, nor do we back down from evil. Jesus came to "destroy the works of the devil." He did it through healings, miracles, love, and sacrifice. Let us do the same.
